Product Performance Testing

Aerisa products have been thoroughly evaluated by Intertek ETL Semko (www.intertek-etlsemko.com), one of the largest and most respected providers of testing and evaluation services for manufacturers and retailers all over the world.

Particulate Reduction

Intertek evaluated the effectiveness of the Aerisa in-duct air purification system in removing airborne particles in a typical residential room.  A combination of dust and mold spores were injected into the room and decay rates - how quickly the particles were removed from the air - with and without the Aerisa equipment in operation.  The results show that over a 15 minute period, the Aerisa equipment produced a decay rate of 86% - approximately 660% faster than the measured natural decay rate for dust particles.

Mold Spore Reduction

A similar test procedure was conducted with mold spores (Aspergillus Fumigatus).  The tests with the Aerisa equipment activated produced a decay rate of 91.1% compared to the natural decay rate of 67.1% - over 130% faster.  Note that the test was terminated after only 9 minutes as the Aerisa equipment had decreased the mold spore count below the measuring capabilities of the equipment.

Clean Air Delivered Rate

The Clean Air Delivered Rate (CADR) is a key measurement useful in comparing the overall effectiveness of air purification systems.  Intertek compared the Aerisa 100C with four other common air purification products using a special test chamber to simulate real world use.  Particles were introduced into the chamber and measurements taken to compare how fast each product removed particles from the air.   The effectiveness of each product is compared in the attached graph which shows that the Aerisa CADR more than twice the next most effective product (Lennox Healthy Climate) and more than 25 times more effective than the market leading Ionic Breeze.

Ozone

Testing of Aerisa products by Interek has also shown that no ozone is produced as a result of the air purification process.  Ozone is a potent lung irritant and exposure to elevated levels is a contributor to the exacerbation of lung disease; it is especially dangerous for persons with asthma and other chronic lung diseases, children, and the elderly.   Many air purification products generate ozone – either by design or as a by-product – degrading air quality as a result.

Intertek testing of Aerisa products was performed in two actual installations – one in a commercial building and the other in a residential home.  The testing monitored the levels of ozone inside and outside the test buildings over a 12 hour period.  In both the commercial and residential installations, the testing demonstrated that ozone is not produced by the products even though the levels of ozone outside the buildings significantly increased over the test period.
